A day in the life of a CRAZY cat lady

I was just making lunch when the inspiration for this post hit me: An inside look at a day in the life of a cat lady. I never chose to have most of the kitties, but life happens, right? Each and every one has their own story, but this isn't about their stories. This is about the days when I consider my sanity because of them.

I wake up to the sound of cries on the other side of the door, either from the obsessive kitty that has to have me in her sight at all times, or a hungry kitty. Not sure yet. Open my eyes to a ball of fluff on my face that is almost 20 pounds of Milkshake, move my hand to shift him to have my hand pounced on by playful but shy Isis. It's going to be one of THOSE mornings.
Fighting my way out of bed is relatively easy.
I open the door to find the horde of hungry felines, ready to attack if food isn't provided right this instant. Intending to hurry to their demands, I instead wade through the 5 furry bodies that have to stop every other step to be sure I'm following.
Finally I reach the air tight container of cat food, only to have the lid held down by the paws of one cat and the body of another. After some wrestling, food is distributed, followed by water.
Breathing a sigh of relief, I head in to brush my teeth. This should be easy. It's not. Here comes the mostly blind wrecking ball of fury, eager to rush to the fresh water he prefers over all else, tripping me several times in the process.
Next comes breakfast, but careful, any little noise that might even be imaginatively considered as the sound of a can of wet food sets them off. Oooppps. Here's the horde. Fighting off curious felines, I cook and eat my breakfast of frozen hash browns, from a cardboard box (still confused how that sounds like wet food by the way).
Now it's time to check on my few timed Facebook apps and do my daily internet things before cleaning. Peace for the first time today!
Cleaning brings "helpers", the kitties that are underfoot and in all the places you least want them to be. After struggling around them, the work is done and I'm ready to sit down and read a while. Here comes the reading helpers, one on my shoulder to make sure I'm reading at cat approved speed, the other to hold my place for me in case I should drop my book.
Dinner time is near. I know this not because of the time, but because suddenly the airtight food container is the new gathering place. I feed the kitties, then it's time to make my own dinner. Be care....Shoot, here they come! We cook dinner together...Well I cook dinner and chase the kitties every few minutes, then the entire time I'm eating.
Dish washing time, another small chunk of peace. That done, I go back to reading with my helpers.
Shower time! Here come the shower helpers. These guys watch from the safety of the dry floor, to make sure I miss nothing of course (my shower curtain is clear so I can keep an eye for any issues, including but not limited to home invasions, masked murders, the Grudge ghosts, etc..), as well as my water inspector, who randomly pops in the shallow end of the tub to make sure it's a suitable warmth for mommy. Drying off is physically inspected, as is dressing and brushing my hair.
Back to reading, or maybe a movie. The movie wins. I spend the next 2 hours of movie time chasing kitties from the front of the television, which I've come to understand is optimal viewing location.
Bed time! Now it's back to fighting with Isis and Milkshake for bed space, until I fall asleep, only to start it all again tomorrow.

This has been a day in my life. Hope you enjoyed.

I've been missing again

I always seem to make plans to run my sites ( YouTube, Blogger, google+, etc..) better, but yet somehow always fail. Something always manages to come up, or I lack inspiration, or whatever. This time it's life, really.
I downloaded the app, expecting to use it to post more, and just haven't had the time, really. I know have weekly meetings to be at, which involve a good bit of travel even in the car, and take up a good chunk of my day. I've also begun organizing the house, clearing out junk and clutter, and moving what things I don't need right now out and into storage.
On top of this, things haven't been going so well with the people around me. For the most part, my Tumblr blog, Facebook, and Twitter have gotten most of my attention when I am able. Twitter because I can text what I want to say, Facebook because I'm addicted, and same for Tumblr.
Long story short, I'm going to try and force myself to make time for everything again.
I really don't know what I'll be doing for YouTube, I honestly don't have any ideas, nor a good video area in which I can comfortably film, so I'm guessing that's suspended again until further notice.
I don't know how many readers I have that haven't subscribed, but I'll include my links so that you can follow my more active pages. I really am trying to at least keep up with Blogger again, since it's more about my thoughts than Tumblr can be some days. All in all, expect more posts and daily updates, rants, whatever. :)
